Decided to start trying to share "looser" artwork. This was a quick sketch that was done in about 20 minutes. The reuse of wheels and big brushes with high contrast colors allows this to be sketched this fast. Not always easy for me to share my loose work. Working in the industry means you're are always doing presentation pieces at various levels of finish. The industry as of late has moved back to quick meaningful sketches to encourage new design creativity. Enjoy!-Dave
Lately, I've been looking at some of the shapes of the 70's muscle cars. This image represents some of the design trends coming our way and was meant as a "demo" sketch for my class at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit.

Grey Bomber
This is a "Live Trace" of a sketch titled the "Grey Bomber. It was initially "kitbashed" from lots of images
along with a rendering I did in photoshop. When livetraced it almost looks real. I'm doing some revisions of the sketch now and will post it at some point. The inspiration was today's 60's inspired Cafe Racers. I've been working with the "Italians" on my day job so the Ferrari racing engine in an American Hotrod is a nod to them. It's a joy listening to them speak and express their vision. What an inspiration. Thanks guys. Ciao!
